Still Burning: A Love Letter to the Light Givers

You ever been in a dark place, yet somehow God still uses you to be a light for others?

I have.

Still am, sometimes.

There are days my prayers feel like echoes.

Days I pour into others while I’m running on fumes.

When I post the affirmation I need most.

When I give the encouragement, I can barely grasp for myself.

But that’s the thing about light —

It doesn’t need permission from the dark to exist.

It just shows up.

Quietly. Faithfully. Powerfully.

Even when the flame feels like it’s flickering,

Even when the tears are hot and the silence is loud —

Somehow, God whispers,

“You still got work to do.”

“You still carry oil.”

“You still shine.”

And so I show up.

Bruised, but believing.

Shaky, but still standing.

Not because I feel strong…

But because grace is stubborn.

I used to think I had to be healed to be helpful.

That I needed clarity to be called.

But I’ve learned that sometimes your testimony isn’t

“Look what I survived.”

It’s:

“Look who I kept loving in spite of the pain.”

“Look what I gave even when I had nothing left.”

“Look how God still showed up — in me, through me, with me.”

So if you’re walking through your own shadows right now,

Still showing up for others,

Still holding space,

Still praying with cracked lips and clenched fists…

You’re not broken. You’re burning.

A little light. A lot of God.

And more purpose than you realize.
